Community Steak Dinner And Auction

The community is invited to attend an informal, neighborly dinner at Christ Episcopal Church at 5 p.m. Adults are only $20 per person and children under 12 only $10. Enjoy a full meal and an auction as well. All proceeds of the event go towards the refurbishing of the church steeple. This beautiful church is on the corner of Jefferson Street and Chester Avenue (three blocks west of New Hyde Park Road) in Garden City, just a few blocks south of New Hyde Park. Marvelous Movie Matinée

A screening of the 1966 spy parody Out Man Flint starring James Coburn and Lee J. Cobb will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at the Garden City Public Library. The event will be held in meeting room B. Writing The Essay For College Applications

Lynda Aron will conduct a workshop “Writing the Essay for College Applications” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. This program is limited to 30 high school students. Registration began Sept. 8 online on Eventkeeper. The library is located at 60 7th St. For more information, call 516-742-8405.


The Town-Village Aircraft Safety and Noise Abatement Committee (TVASNAC) regular meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Nathan L.H. Bennett Pavilion, Hempstead Town Hall, 1 Washington St., Hempstead. Visit for more information.
