Each year in celebration of Foreign Language Week, Long Island Language Teachers’ Association (LILT) sponsors a poster contest. This year, LILT’s topic was Celebrate the Power of Languages. Leia Immanuel, a sixth-grade Spanish student in Danielle Caruthers’ class, won first place in the competition.
Students who chose to participate in the contest had to create posters of an exact size, use specific artistic media listed by the association and display only original artwork. Immanuel’s exceptional artistic ability led her to win this contest.
“Congratulations Leia on a fantastic job,” said Caruthers. “The poster will be displayed at the LILT Fall Conference in November 2016. It will also be displayed on the LILT website.” To learn more about LILT, visit www.liltfl.org.
