Student Wins Writing Contest

WritingContest_052016Congratulations to Garden City High School sophomore Kaylah Bozkurtian (center), pictured here with (from left) Principal Nanine McLaughlin, English teachers Amy Regis and Crystal Ferraiolo, and curriculum coordinator Bernadette Arnone, for being selected as the first place winner for grade 10 in LILAC’s (Long Island Language Arts Council) 2016 Kenneth F. Gambone Writing Contest. Bozkurtian wrote her winning piece within the 42-minute period designated for the competition. Her piece, entitled “The Angel in Death,” was published in the LILAC program and read by Bozkurtian at the organization’s annual luncheon.
