House Fire Takes The Lives Of Three Residents


The Homicide Squad reports the details of a fire that occurred on May 6 at 5:35 a.m. in Garden City.

According to detectives, Garden City Police officers responded to a Washington Avenue residence for a call of a house fire. Upon arrival officers observed the residence fully engulfed in flames. The GCFD responded along with eight other fire departments to extinguish the fire. As a result of the fire there were three fatalities, a 62-year-old male, 60-year-old female and a 18-year-old female. There were approximately 11 fire apparatus and 50 fire personnel at the scene. The Arson Bomb squad responded along with the Nassau County Fire Marshall.

The Homicide Squad has identified the victims as being Gail Madigan, 60 years of age and Molly Madigan, 18 years of age. The 62-year-old male victim will be identified pending further investigation.
